Quick Start

However much time you have, you can run a real science moment with weird animals — no prep, no account, no logins. Pick your slot:

⏱️
5 minutes

A warm-up

Project the Animal of the Day on the board, read the fact aloud, and ask “real or made-up?” before you reveal the science. Or post the Fact-a-Day sheet on the wall.

📋
30–45 minutes

A full lesson

Pick one of the 7 lesson plans. Each has a warm-up, an activity, discussion questions, a quick check, and NGSS / UK curriculum links — plus a matching worksheet to hand out.

🔬
A project

Independent research

Each student picks an animal and fills in its research sheet from the facts, the science, and the “how do we know?” line — then shares what they found.

Run your first lesson in 5 steps

  1. 1Open the lesson hub and pick a topic — try Camouflage & Mimicry to start.
  2. 2Hit 📽️ Project these animals to show that lesson's critters on the board. Read a fact, ask the class to predict, then reveal the science.
  3. 3Print the matching worksheet (Spot-the-Fake or the Animal Research Sheet) and hand it out.
  4. 4Use the lesson's discussion questions and the quick-check to wrap up.
  5. 5Hand a Young Zoologist certificate to your weird-animal experts. 🏅
